BSC Weekly Meeting: Dr. Boxer

Please join us at our weekly meeting  Tuesday, November 5th at 11:30 am in BSRB 154 as Dr. Richard Boxer will be presenting.
Dr. Boxer is a recognized expert in telemedicine. He has been the Chief Medical Officer of the nation’s largest telemedicine company, Teladoc since 2006, where he built the clinical program for the nation’s largest telemedicine company that grew from 50,000 to 5,000,000 members. He managed the quality of a national network of 350 Board Certified doctors, wrote the first medical guidelines (125) for evidence-based telemedicine, directed all clinical aspects of interactions with state and federal regulatory agencies, Congress and Executive Branch, and created the industry standard for telemedicine quality assurance and quality improvement program.

Dr. Boxer is an attending Urologist with the Los Angeles Veterans Administration Hospital and Voluntary Professor of Urology at UCLA. He completed his residency at UCLA (1973-1979). He was awarded the Presidential Citation from the American Urological Association for excellence in Urology. He was a Finalist for Surgeon General of the United States in 1997 in the Bill Clinton Administration and in 2001 was a Short-List Finalist in the George W Bush Administration. He was a Senior White House Advisor for Healthcare. He was a Presidential Appointee to the National Cancer Advisory Board (1995-2002); National Board of Advisors, National Institute of Diabetes, and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (1994-1998), and US Delegate of World Health Organization.
