Resume Writing for Industry Positions in STEM

In Industry, demonstrating your fit for a position begins with the resume and goes well beyond technical aptitude.  In this workshop you will learn how to create a compelling resume for industry positions in STEM fields by learning how to format and target your resume to specific positions, frame your technical experience, and highlight the top ten transferrable skills most employers in the STEM fields are looking for.

Kristy Sherrer, STEM Manager, Graduate Student Services

Kristy Sherrer is the STEM Manager for Graduate Student Services in the UCLA Career Center.  Kristy’s professional experience in career counseling ranges from working with undergraduate and graduate students, to veterans and federal government employees.  Prior to UCLA, Kristy was a career advisor for a nonprofit workforce development firm in Maryland, where she worked specifically with STEM employers and advised clients on Cyber and STEM opportunities.  Her contributions to the field of career counseling and programming have been the focus of local media attention in Maryland for her innovative speed interviewing events and in California, as the employment specialist on a successful federal stimulus grant.  She is a Certified Federal Career Coach, Certified Federal Job Search Trainer, and Certified International Protean Career Coach.
