Please join us in welcoming Brendan Rauw, UCLA’s new Associate Vice Chancellor for Research and Executive Director of Entrepreneurship. As the strategic leader of the Office of Intellectual Property and Industry Sponsored Research, Mr. Rauw will be responsible for developing and overseeing a variety of programs designed to stimulate and encourage innovation, entrepreneurship, and the transfer of intellectual property into real-world applications. Mr. Rauw will discuss his new position and plans to work across UCLA’s campus, medical center and affiliated hospitals and community clinics to grow and enhance technology transfer operations.

Following Mr. Rauw’s introduction, he will take part in the BSC panel discussion with faculty entrepreneurs who have successfully commercialized their technologies while continuing their esteemed careers in academia. This conversation will be moderated by Professor William Ouchi and our panel will include Dr. Michael Phelps, Chair of the Department of Molecular and Medical Pharmacology and Dr. Arie Belldegrun, Director of the Institute of Urologic Oncology at UCLA. We will also hear from Dr. Sherie Morrison, one of UCLA’s most prolific inventors and Chair of the Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Molecular Genetics.

This is an excellent opportunity to learn first hand about the exciting developments in UCLA’s technology translation and gain valuable insights from UCLA’s talented and enterprising faculty.  We look forward to seeing you there.
