A core belief of the BSC is that the best innovation occurs when there is collaboration across multiple disciplines and perspectives. The AWiSE program was created in response to the observation that while women comprise a significant percent of the student population in science and engineering graduate programs, they’re underrepresented in leadership roles within science and engineering companies. The BSC aims to provide a forum for candid conversations to address these concerns and offer training, education, and mentorship to encourage graduates who enter the professional sector to value diversity and its impact on innovation and ultimately break down existing gender barriers.
